Facing felony accusations can be a stressful and challenging process. Individuals who are suspected of crimes of this nature often face severe consequences, with a conviction often including a lengthy prison term. Individuals who are convicted of theft may also be required to provide restitution for stolen property to the victim. Two deputies in Georgia are facing a similar situation after they were recently arrested and accused of the theft of county property.

According to police, one of the individuals took unused property from the supply area at the local sheriff’s office without authorization. He then allegedly gave some of this property to another individual. Both deputies surrendered voluntarily, and both were later released on bond. Authorities have advised that the incident is still under investigation.

One of the deputies faces charges for felony theft of county property, while the other is accused of receiving stolen property. Both are accused of violating the oath of a public officer. Accusations alone can present an individual with various hardships. In this particular case, the deputies may have difficulty obtaining employment within a similar field, even if a conviction is not obtained.

When an individual is accused of theft, he or she may seek to challenge the charges and protect his or her future from being affected. This can be difficult alone, prompting many people in Georgia to speak with an experienced attorney for assistance in the process. An attorney can examine all evidence surrounding the incident and advise a person how to obtain the best outcome possible given the current situation.
